Uns erwarten 2 Seetage auf dem Weg von Ushuaia nach Puerto Chacabucco – einem 1.300 Seelen Städtchen – unser erster Stopp in Chile.
Die Fahrt geht zunächst durch den Beagle Kanal und soll uns dann in den Pazifik führen. Für den Beagle Kanal sind uns in den frühen Morgenstunden des 04.02. eindrucksvolle Gletscher angekündigt und wir stellen uns den Wecker für 5 Uhr morgens.
Die ersten Gletscher liegen beim Aufwachen noch quasi im Dunkeln, aber vor dem eindruckvollsten, dem Pae-Gletscher – vor dem der Kapitän das Schiff dann auch einmal um 360 ° drehen lässt, damit alle Gäste einen Blick auf dieses Naturwunder werfen können – geht dann auch schon langsam die Sonne auf.
Der Wasserfall an sich ist schon atemberaubend ebenso wie das Blau des Gletschers, aber gemeinsam mit dem Rauschen des Wassers ist es wirklich ein Gänsehaut-Moment.
Es ist relativ frisch auf dem Balkon, so dass ich mich nach einer Weile in mein Bett zurückziehe und das Naturwunder dank der perfekten Lage unserer Kabine unter der warmen Decke mit einem heißen Tee genießen kann. Dekadenter geht es wohl nicht mehr 😉 ….
Sobald wir den Beagle Kanal verlassen und auf den offenen Pazifik kommen, wird die See allerdings deutlich rauer. Der Kapitän versucht weiter in Fjorde auszuweichen, aber zwischendurch muss es dann doch die offene See sein.
Um 18 Uhr fehlen so einige Gäste beim Abendessen wegen Seekrankheit und der Kapitän gibt bekannt, dass der Halt in Chacabucco leider entfallen muss, da wir wie auch auf den Falkland-Inseln hier nicht sicher tendern könnten.
Für mich ist der Ausfall zu verschmerzen, die touristischen Punkte wären nicht so berauschend. Aber für die Inselbewohner und Ausflugsveranstalter in Chacabucco ein riesiger Verlust, wie wir der Korrespondenz aus unserer privaten Facebook-Gruppe entnehmen können, wo einige einen Ausflug mit einem privaten Veranstalter gebucht hatten. Dort legt eben selten ein Kreuzfahrtschiff an!
Der Kapitän informiert uns, dass er in langsamerem Tempo soweit möglich durch weitere chilenische Fjorde und an Gletschern vorbeifahren wird und dann wie geplant am 07. Februar in Puerto Montt ankommen will.
Wir verbringen die 3 Seetage mit „Nacharbeiten“ zu unserer Zeit in Ushuaia, „Haushalt“ wie Wäsche waschen, Informationsveranstaltungen zu unseren kommenden Zielen und bekommen eine Einladung zu einem Treffen der Diamond & Blue Diamond Mitglieder . Ich habe einen riesigen Respekt vor dem Service-Personal, das mit weißen Handschuhen bei dem Seegang volle, schwere Tabletts mit Getränken durch die Sitzreihen jonglieren muss. Ich habe bereits genug mit mir alleine zu tun, um nicht aus dem Gleichgewicht zu kommen.
Und wir lesen und spielen ein bisschen oder sind einfach nur faul. Ohnehin keine schlechte Idee, denn bei dem Schwanken auf dem Schiff muss man gut aufpassen, sich bei den teilweise sehr ruckartigen Schiffsbewegungen nicht auf die Nase zu legen.
Am Ende des 3. Seetages feiert das Service Personal, dass wir jetzt schon “ 1 month together“ sind. Ich kann es kaum fassen, dass wirklich schon ein Viertel der Weltreise vorbei sein soll.
Ich freue mich dann aber doch auch schon sehr auf den morgen anstehenden Landgang in Puerto Montt. Ich will endlich Chile sehen und auch mal wieder runter vom Schiff! Auch in diesem Hafen müssen wir tendern – hoffentlich kommt nichts dazwischen ….!
